Nice car, love the color! My 323i sedan is the same color and I'll never get sick of it! If its well taken care of, it's beautiful. I also love you BBS'. This is one of the nicest E46 wagons I've seen!

Do the throttle cable. It is a little tedious to replace, but well worth it. I think it was like $20 shipped to my door and took about an hour to install.

Yeah, it is a little difficult in some parts, but not impossible. I did it with just me, but two people would make snaking the old one out much easier.
The most difficult part was disconnecting the old cable from the firewall. You need to remove all the plastic from the the area above the firewall in the engine bay to access one of two plastic clips you need to simultaneously depress and pull. The other of the clips is under the accelerator pedal...this one is the tough one. Everything else is simply removing air box, intake elbow, throttle body, then unhooking the cable end (like a bike brake cable with a little cylinder at the end of the cable). After that, unfasten the two plastic clips and pull out from the engine bay side of the firewall. Install is WAY easier. |

Got it. Thanks for the info!
Where in the East Bay are you? I am also in the East Bay, specifically El Sobrante, right around the corner from Orinda.. and in the opposite direction is Richmond :shifty:

Well.
Quite the change of plans over the passed month or so! Long story short. My dad sold his DD 2003 530/5 for a NICE one owner 2002 M5. We both agree the M5 is too nice to DD so he is taking my touring as his DD and I am going to drive our 1983 Lincoln Continental! ![]() ![]() My touring (Stella), which is now my Dad's DD. ![]() My Dad's new 2002 M5. Bone stock, just the way an M car should be and it will stay that way ![]() ![]() ![]() Lincoln Conty my new DDSo, between my Dad and I, we have three cars; my touring, Lincoln, and the M5 beast. I might keep DD'ing the touring, but something about a big car appeals to me

Last time I drove the conti, it was getting around 12 mpg.. If I get around 16 mpg I will be happy. The touring gets 25 mpg mixed, 29-30 mpg on the freeway. The M5 gets 16-20 mpg. I guess I am crazy for wanting to DD it, but I don't care. I only drive 25 miles a day.. I will probably drive the Conti 3 or 4 times a week, the other days I will take the touring or the M5.

I vote 13" center lock Dayton's... lightweight wheels will bring those MPG's up!!!
honesty, my grandpa had one of those back in the 80s. They are ridiculously HUGE!

In all seriousness, I would rock a set.. No updates on the 323i, it hit 165k miles and is running as if it is brand new. Both the BMW dealer and the local BMW performance repair shop loved the touring and they said it is in ana amazing state considering it is 13 years old! I did get a scanner/programmer though. I am going to disable my DRL's, and enable the 5 (or 10?) mph auto-door lock. I may also disable the bulb out warnings on my car, I bought some LED bulbs (wich are awesome) but they throw a error code on this car..
