got a damn front license plate ticket so i picked up the gominigo no holes license plate bracket. just installed.. looks so much better without the plate tho.. ugh! and also i installed a set of infinity kappa 2 way speakers in the front doors and an 800 watt pioneer mono amp and 8" polk audio dxi subwoofer in the trunk. I never knew that so much wire splicing was involved to do this.

Added a few mods in the last couple weeks and haven't been updating my build thread.
Got a great deal on an ecis intake with heat shield and gruppe m rep exhaust. Also added the illuminated zhp weighted shift knob. Pics as vid up soon. Reviews- Ecis intake- definitely improved sound, nice and throaty. Fitment is perfect and install was a breeze. It's also nice that this kit uses the oem maf screen for extra protection of the sensor. Gruppe m rep exhaust- mellow tone at idle, but pretty loud at lower rpms 1-2.5k. But quiets down a bit after that and absolutely no drone on the highway. High revving sound is amazing, nice a smooth tone and not raspy at all with my ar20 in the section 2. Very happy with the sound and all welds look really good. Fitment was not perfect and tips aren't perfectly straight but for the price this was a steal. Probably going to have a muffler shop straighten the tips soon. |

It is no fun and seems like a waste to have to mess up the lines of the car with a front license plate. Have you seen this offering?
I couldn't figure out how to copy and paste the address for the youtube video, but if you search "Hide Away License Plate By EXOTIC CUSTOMS!!!" you will see the video of the way their product works. I am not affiliated btw. I just got an M3 about a month ago and I am required to have front plates in my state too. I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on this, but wasn't sure if it would hold up. It would be pretty cool though I think, whenever you park / if you get pulled over...just flip the switch and you are legal. Last edited by SocratesRising; 02-10-2013 at 09:39 PM. |

I've seen that plate holder before but I think out cars would be too low to run a plate like that. I would be afraid of it being ripped off or being damaged from low ground clearance. I already scrape the front bottom pulling out of some driveways. But very cool concept tho.

Spacers make the car look so much better. With the 18s (oem wheels) I think 18mm front and 12mm rear is a nice conservative setup. You could always go with larger spacers but then you might have to play with camber to avoid rubbing issues.

Can't tell if there is much gain but don't think there is any loss. This intake is sold by jack over at custom performance. It's not a cheap system.
It's made by ecis and a lot of ppl on this forum are running the kit. Last edited by iamwilliam; 02-16-2013 at 12:34 PM. |

Exhaust was too loud for my taste. I'm currently selling it now. I decided to go back to oem and just put tips on it for looks. Pretty happy with how they turned out. The install was pretty hard since the tips weren't made specifically for the car. I had to trim the pipes and get them expanded a bit for a slip fit. Then drilled holes and riveted them into the oem holes. Pics up soon.
