My Ride: E46 M3 Vert
Living in wisconsin, you've just got to redefine your definition of "convertible weather"

Heavier, louder inside, top breaks, chassis isn't as stiff.

With that said, I regret getting a vert.

How does having a vert make you insecure or have a small wiener? I think it's quite the opposite if you think about it.

Ok yes stock vs stock the hardtop Is slightly faster. BUT my vert m3 with a K and N intake, M2 exhaust and shark injector pulls on my friends hardtop.

Having a very is special you can drop the top and have more fun taking your favorite canyon road slower then hauling a$$ down it faster in a hardtop.

Convertible is only good in CA lol if you live in LA u need to be crazy to get the hardtop

I just wish there is less rattle at the front windows with top up. I have cleaned the top window frame and tightened the window regulator. Still rattles. I even put some foam insulator and no dice.

Generally speaking, 10 lbs ~= 1 hp in acceleration. So if a given car is 350 lbs heavier, you need to add 35 hp to it make it equally accelerative.

Then again, I think the reduced acceleration is the least meaningful downside of having a vert.

Ten pounds in weight is equivalent to 1 bhp? Where did you come up with that, which if true would mean that a 3500 lb M3 coupe would have insufficient power to move at all with only 333 bhp.

I'm happy with mine. I think if it was a coupe I'd get more tickets.

Hey Wisconsin here with a convertible! Don't get to use it too often but it's worth it in the summer. Car stays clean, mileage doesn't accumulate and I have a Range Rover for when it's nasty.

Glad to see lots of love for the convertible here - it is slower than the coupe but it's a blast to drive and I don't live on the nurburgring. Honestly wouldn't trade her for a coupe if I had the chance.
