Traction control light on...

Car was parked for a few weeks and upon starting it the light came on and traction control is always in off mode. Is it a sensor or switch that went bad? Where can I find the part?

If the light is ON, then the DSC system is off. Hit the DSC button to see if the dash light goes on/off.

It could be one of the two speed sensors, the steering angle sensor,or even a fault within the DSC module. Your best bet is to scan it with PA Soft scan tool. A generic obd2 scanner won't help here. You can check the speed sensors with a volt meter by spinning the wheel and testing for voltage, but the scan tool is a much easier method.

This happened to me and it was from a brake fluid leak. If it got to low it would shut off the dsc. ended up that my clutch master cylinder was done and leaking fluid on the pedals. That's just what happened to me but it's worth a glance I'd say.
