Make sure to file a complaint with NHTSA. It's very quick and easy.

I just filled a complaint. Question though.... I changed out my bulbs the other day with some 6000k bulbs.. and i was trying to look while i had the headlights out but not apart, to see if i could get a look at the bowels.. it didnt seem as if i could get a good look, but looking at the outer side of the bowels, they were a bronze or almost caramel if you will color.. my question is, is this the way they are supposed to look.. or is this a indicator that the inside of my bowels are burnt as well.. im thinking that the outside should be of some kind of chrome coating or color as well and not how they are. So if some one could send me a quick answer on this i would appreciate it..

They should be white or Chrome. Caramel is burnt.

That's what I figured. I took pics while I was changing out the bulbs. I know there is no sense on holding my breath on re-call, so I will add that to my short list of repairs I guess. Thanks

We need more people to file a complaint! If BMW can recall our taillights, maybe they'll do the same for the ZKW xenons. I'd sure like a new set.

For newer members who haven't filed, or any member thats experiencing defective light output, please consider filing a complaint at the link below. It only takes a minute or two to submit a new complaint.

How can u tell if you have the Zkw bowls? My xenons seem pretty dim so I went ahead and ordered new bulbs, so well see if that helps.

As far as I know all ZHP's have ZKW headlights which suffer from the burnt projector bowls.

Btw, what bulbs did you order?

Might be true of the 4 door ZHPs, though the coupes all have AL I believe.

For sedans... most got ZKWs, but not all. If the ZHP was built in 05, then there's a good chance it came with ALs.
