I used 3m double side mounting tape, the outdoor red one, strongest one at Home Depot I think. I made sure I cleaned both sides really well, then used painters tape and clamps to hold it on. 3 plus years with multiple temperature ranges from really hot to cold, windows down on the freeway, and so on, and it is still holding on. The good thing about mounting tape versus all the adhesives I tried was that it was space filling, and there wasn't any space that didn't have any adhesive to start the trim drooping process all over again.
