Gloss Black Wheels - Couple of Questions

Hey guys

I'm about to purchase some CSL wheels for my car however am having a hard time finding them in gloss black in decent offsets (atleast 19" x 8.5" +40 and 19" x 10" +25). Only gloss black ones I could find were higher offsets that aren't going to fill the gaurds the way I want.

So instead I'm thinking of just getting any colour and then painting them gloss black once they arrive.

However would it be easier for a paint shop to convert matte black wheels to gloss black (no clear on matte wheels so just hit it with gloss black straight away?) Or does it not really matter since they will have to bead blast them back anyway?

I'm just thinking if I get say silver ones with a clear coat it might be more work than if I just buy matte black ones since they don't have a clear coat so might take less work preping?

Hope that makes sense and that it's not to dumb of a question.

Cheers

Phil

Most wheels will always have some sort of clear coat or protection to provide some barrier against the elements. Either way they would have to strip it all off and paint from a bare base of you want to get proper results.

Try VMR as they stock csl style wheels in those offsets and they will paint the wheels any colour you want with any finish, that's your best bet.

They do tons of custom colours and jobs, most places in the states like EAS, VMR and a bunch of others do custom paint jobs on wheels before you order them so try sending them an email

We don't sell any prestripped wheels. We chemically strip the wheels first, and then prep them for powder coating. All of this is done locally.
