#300. Vote goes to ///MPR! you were dead to me for so long for not voting.

#300 and 300,000 miles, if anyone disagrees, go see ///MPR. He'll be waiting on the top floor with those Bavarian hamhocks he calls "fists" waiting.... likely lubed up with genuine coolant (the fists, that is)

There is a big difference between simply agreeing with the idea, or actually doing it.
Two choices aren't enough to get a realistic picture.
I did the entire cooling system overhaul plus belts and pulleys the first 2 weeks of owning the car

Preventative maintenance all the way! The car will stay in better shape if it's always running on "healthy" parts.

It broke. Shaft snapped in half. Propeller system inside was in pieces.

Just wondering if maybe this should be added to preventative maintenance... If its just me at this mileage probably not.

I've seen several posts about broken PS pumps lately. IDK about doing it as PM, but definitely keep an eye on it.

How far did you have to drive with the pump broken, and how difficult was that?

Which pump did you use the 20 or the 30, and how much did you pay?

Drove a mile or two. It's not difficult at all. It's three bolts and two hoses. One hose uses a clamp that's not reuseable so you need to buy a new hose clamp.

My swapped motor is from a 04 so it was a L30.

$200-$300 for a L20 and $300-$350 for a L30. -_- not cheap...

We brought it to a shop in connecticut and they took care of all the coding and what not. I'm not sure we did anything with locks and stuff. This was when I was 17 and didn't know too much about e46's lol. Noob really.
