Where can I get my Codes Read in Melbourne

My 323i- 1999 is not running right...

I changed the camshaft sensors and am running with the exhaust camshaft sensor unplugged as it is the only way it will run properly without roughness, missing and stalling. Cleaned everything, new fuel filter, new fuel pump.

What is wrong with it?

Where can I get the codes read in Melbourne guys?

And what sort of code reader can I buy to get BMW codes, if any?

Thanks in advance!
Colin

Hi Tim,

I chased all the symptoms to no avail...couldn't find anyone to read the codes because the excuse was too busy, and those that did wanted between $150 - $310 to do it and you and I know it takes about 5 minutes maximum.

So I bought a Peake code reader from the 'good Ol' USA' and 'bingo', read the instructions, 3 minutes max, after plugging it in about 3 minutes after all the codes there, just look up the book. Another 2 minutes. My problem was pin pointed to a missing coil on #1 and #2, it played up intermittently. Changed those and bingo again...all OK.

If you want to PM me, you can drop by my place in Armadale and we'll plug it in for you and read them again. Takes 5 minutes!
Cheers,

Colin

Helrot330i...

I did all my codes and cleared them all after the Peake tool told me what was wrong!

Best thing I ever did buying a code reader...so easy...all info at your fingertips.

Change the part...check again...no fault codes. Easy!!! Runs like a dream!

Oh! Meant to say...my 323i has the 16 pin connector...the Peake tool came with a OBCD rectangular plug conversion...but I've misplaced it. Need to find it ! It is here somewhere!
