Blue tooth & nav man

I own a 2004 e46 318i and it comes with a TV,CD,telephone and computer.
I talked to a man at BMW dealership and he said that for a navman you download a disk but my question to all the beema riders does that apply for a Bluetooth

set up?
I will be uploading pictures of my car as I have a connection under the coin tray and would like to know what its purpose is. I do believe that a mobile phone will rectify my problem, and that's why a blue tooth set up is so important.

The connectors under the coin tray/armrest are prewiring for an Bluetooth Antenna/Phone connection.
