That's What I think too. What is the open port on the back of the blower? It is around 3/4 inch. I'll start pulling it off tomorrow night. What should I do about a gasket?

Problem solved. Car runs great!! Pulled off the transmission and blower install in 9 hours (not including tear down). Thanks lab rat, ess should make a point to provide a plug as mine is damaged now from ten years of staying put. Will order a new one Monday. Headers Also come in Wednesday so a bit more work to do.

Awesome build. Can't wait to see how the finished product performs.

I haven't ridden it too hard yet as I have to baby it for 100 miles, but I can't wait, I love the whine. I need to get an ssk, the OEM is quite long.

Yeah, I gave ESS hell for making crappy install manual. The section about IAT sensor is clearly marked as MS43 only so someone with MS45 is gonna skip it. It does have tiny note about the dead plug there.
Start with the ZHP shiftknob. It shorter than stock and made enough difference for me.

Here are some pictures of the finished install. It runs pretty good but the idle hangs around 1200 rpm before dropping down to normal. Not sure if it's the tune or if something else is going on. No codes. Headers and full exhaust this weekend.

Congrats! Mine only idles at 1100 when the engine is very cold. Then it slowly settles to 650ish. I have also e-mailed ESS (Hans) a few minutes ago about a solution that I'm thinking to prevent oil vapors going back into the intake manifold but instead draining back to the sump.

My headers showed up today, too bad I work thru Saturday. I get my ATI epod on Friday. Not sure if a mechanical boost gauge will fit in the pods. Does anyone have experience fitting one?

ESS told me today the idle speed is adaptive and stays a bit higher at first to prevent stalling due to the extra load from the blower. Headers got dropped off for ceramic coating today, 160 for both.

Headers go on tomorrow. Tonight a B7 Audi S4 was messing with me. We did a pull from maybe 40 mph, my front bumper was right next to his rear tire. Pretty impressive that I hung with him considering it is a 340hp 302ftlb car.

I'm pretty happy. But I find myself looking at used motors already... we will see how long it takes.
