i used a pry bar to line it up and had too double gasket it to seal up

I thought the whole point of buying from bimmer brakes was so you wouldn't have those kinds of issues....

My ebay headers had the O2 sensors located right, but still had to slightly tweak the exhaust pipes to line up just the same.

Exactly now I have headers that don't fit and I have to put on my original ones.

Let me explain the first pic:
The bottom of the flange is hitting the bottom of the exhaust flange and at the top there is a massive gap. I played with the exhaust and it wouldnt change anything.



Let me explain the second pic:

There is a massive gap and the flange is tweaked at and angled (the bolt holes dont line up at all) and the other header is sitting how it was in the other pic. and the gap grows at the top, it is an uneven gap on both.



I dont have any pictures of the o2 bungs, but the rear had about 1mm clearance and the front o2 bung on the headers closest to the rear of the car was not usable.

EDIT: in the second picture you can see the o2 bungs nearly touching each other.

I had my SS replica headers coated by Jet-Hot (ceramic-like coating) when I bought them. Anthony of Bimmer Brakes thinks the extremely hot temperatures the headers were exposed to during the coating process caused them to warp, but I dunno.

Long story short, I had an exhaust shop custom fabricate a piece of pipe to connect the headers to my exhaust line for $60. Now I'm happy as can be.

Well for the record my ebay headers are ceramic coated by jet hot and they don't have these fitment issues at all. And by the way, the jet hot coating is super sexy and is holding up very very well, still looks like new after a couple years, they did a really nice job.

Hmm, thats odd. they should mount right on to the OEM midpipes. The SS reps should fit exact no work needed. now the GEN3's I don't know.. hmm. Just take it to a muffler/welding shop and they'll fix it cheap!

Anyone notice that BimmerBrakes hasn't commented on this?

You should get OEM euro headers instead. Performance difference will be immeasurable between the two,except the oem's will 100% absolutely fit,no B.S. Perfect fit,will last forever.

well paying $1k is way over my budget (since i'll also have to pay around 300$ in shipping fees to my country), that's why i was planning to get with bimmerbrakes headers. i came across ebay headers (seller topspeed-pro1-performance) for 250$ and (seller trader-nas) for 350$.
too bad no 100$ headers for my ZHP like the 323-328

Euro headers for the non-Ms aren't much better than the US headers.

S50 headers might work though.

anything better than the stock headers, as long as they have a perfect fit

What is happening with these headers? Does anyone have a deposit on a set?
