My Ride: 2002 325xi Wagon
Where is my amp?

I have a US-market 2002 325xiT, with the 10-speaker non-HK sound system. I'm pretty sure I have an amp because when I took the front door panels off, each speaker wire went into the car separately. Also, the woofers are 2-ohm drivers, and I doubt they would be run off the HU.

However, it's not in the driver-side of the trunk area, and is not under the flap that's just forward of the spare tire well and held down by body clips.

Where else should I look?

Thanks,
- Alex

In my car (with HK) the amp is in the left rear storage area at the back of the car. It is hiding behind the black sound absorption panel.

You mean the same panel you have to pull off to get at the emergency toolkit? It's not back there. I've had much of the back of my car apart (at least removing carpet), and the wires for the rear speakers (yellow/brown pair and blue/brown pair) went forward.

When I've tried to find where the amp is, elsewhere online, I've only seen pictures of the sedan, not the Touring (Wagon).

Mine was behind that black piece of felt/sound absorption panel in that picture.

Huh. Odd. I wouldn't expect much difference between an '01 and an '02. Do you have the Business CD system, or ...

Mine is mounted to the top of the inside of the trunk. You can't see it unless you bend down to where you are looking up at the trunk.
