New Walther SP22 M2 for target shooting on the way.

Granted, I did not like my Walther P22 for the main reason the tear down sucked, I got a great deal on a new SP22 with upper and lower rails, extra lower grip frame, target scope, and barrel weights for a tad under $300.

Since I got rid on my Sig Mosquito 22LR on a recent trade, I wanted a dedicated 22LR pistol again. This looks very easy to break down with a few allen wrenches. Looks like it will be pretty accurate and fun to shoot for under 300. Will let you guys know how it runs when I get it. Breaking it in with 100 rounds of CCI Mini Mags and then will see if it likes some cheap Federal.....would be nice.

Looks like a mini Robocop gun......LOL.

Only gun I ever bought because it was pretty was my Kimber 1911. Gonna be awesome to shoot this thing with the scope mounted.

Got it today and broke it down/cleaned it. Looks like a great target 22LR plinker. Look forward to sighting it in. Feels great in the hand and I have several different sight options. Just going to try the cheap scope that came with it first. Really light gun before the scope mount and with the 6" barrel....I am sure it will drive tacks. $299......meh...night out for me. I think it was a good deal.

Does it jam as much as the Walther P22?

The reason I love my Ruger SR22 is it will eat the cheapest 22 ammo all day long.

Why do people mount crazy scopes and lasers on .22 pistols? I've never understood this.

Yes....they Walther grips are always nice. Not the first gun I have seen with warnings imbedded in them though.

My Walther P22 only worked with MiniMags. I hear this gun is a bit better with ammo and likes Federal 22LR. We shall see. I have some range time on Tuesday. Will report back.

Scope came with the package deal. Why should I not try it out? Eventually I will get a holo sight for it if the gun runs nice. You guys miss the point of having a cheap, target only 22LR pistol. Came with barrel weights also, and yes.....I will try them out as well.

Most people that mount scopes on handguns do it for accuracy. Hell, have you ever seen a race gun or some of the comp guns out there? Not a new concept.

EDIT: I would love to mount my Fast Fire II on it, but that says on the gun it is on now. If this shoots nice, would be perfect for one later on though.

Range report back:

Best 22LR handgun I have shot besides a buckmark. Once I got the cheap sight that came with it on and tuned, was doing great at 20 yards. Thing even ate my subsonic 22LR CCI with a few rejects. Loved Federal rounds. I am very happy with this gun. Got me a micro vertical red dot on the way, 2 more mags, and taking this thing apart for a 22LR pistol.....besides a Sig Mosquito, is very easy.

I say if you want a dedicated target pistol, as most 22LR guns and rifles are for...check out CDNN and get this.

Only negative I have on it...long hard trigger pull. Had to get used to it. Once I had that...dead on.

Like I said guys, this is a cheap, accurate target shooter. Many 22 guys are very competitive. This one gives you more options than most for a target pistol. I have owned a Walther P22...pain in the ass to break down, Sig Mosquito, nice companion to my P226 but accuracy sucked. I have a 1911 Kimber 22LR conversion slide for my Raptor II.

This alone is the best 22LR for the money right now for what you get, even if you throw away the scope.

Just have to hype this thing again for a great shooter that is cheap, easy to take apart, and eats all ammo I put through it. The gun is discontinued from my understanding but CDNN is giving blow out prices for the stuff. Hey, it is a cheap target pistol. Much better than my Walther P22 or Sig Mosquito and no PITA to put together with the spring and guide rod issues my P22 had.
