We are waiting for pictures to confirm. I do not see how if it is coated. But we will look into it.

Nice, did you bump up the suspension? What size tires? Assuming the rears are rolled?

start:

doin it:

donezo;

Recommend replacing front and rear upper mounts "while in there" for sure. i got lucky and a car was traded in at the dealership i was at at the time with those turner caps, a full stud kit and 7.5mm spacers on it that had to be removed before sale. With the 7.5's on the front there is maybe 3mm of space between the tire and spring, so 7.5mm spacers are required (depending on your tire width as well i suppose, im running stock 225s). Installation is to be expected like any other, really wish I'd waited and had the Rogue RSM's only so if I decide to pull the coils and go back to stock I dont have to destroy the rear of the car to get it all out. But thus is the life of a touring owner.

I have ZSP on my car so the ride was....firm to begin with. the streetedge system is firm but more on the err of "sporty". Ive owned two other cars (e30 and e36) with billie sports and hr race that ride a lot more harsh than these coils do. my only current gripe is i have a rattle in the front left when hitting bumps. also i get spring "pop" from time to time when turning at slow speed. i need to go through this thread and see what people have done if they have ran into this issue. I had the top strut mount over tightened and when loosening it up a turn or so got rid of most of the spring pop but it comes and goes still from time to time. the clunk over bumps is pretty consistent though but i don't believe this to be the kits fault, just install error. a install sheet with torque values would come in handy for those of us without a service/shop manual.

whats next...i just ordered 10mm and 12mm spacers for the front and rear respectively. id like to turn the rears down another 1/2 to 3/4" and the fronts a full inch maybe 1.25 and see how that sits.

Looks nice.

Do not over tighten the set screw. Maximum torque is 1 - 2 Nm (0.74-1.47 ft-lb).

Front
Tightening torque for the piston rod nut is 50 Nm (37 ft-lb). Use the manufacturers recommended torque settings for installation of the strut and all other fasteners that attach the suspensions to the vehicle.

Rear
Tightening torque for piston rod nut is 25 Nm (18 ft-lb).

Has anyone installed these with 19's on? I want to get a set of these coilovers but afraid it's not gonna work with my wheels. I'm on stock sport suspension and rub a little in the rear when going over bumps.

Does anyone have assembly pics of their front suspension? I'm trying to track down what's making my front suspension "spring pop" and clunk over bumps. I keep reading something about washers but I don't see where these go. I replaced the front upper strut mounts with new BMW parts so I didn't get a chance to see how the factory set up goes together to see if I'm missing anything.

Are item #s 5-6 supposed to go above the upper spring perch and below the upper shock mount?!

Thats exactly where the two washers go. One is a thin washer, that acts more like a grease cap, and the other is a thicker washer that sits on the upper perch under the shock mount. Its purpose is to sit on the bearing in the mount and put clearance so the edges don't make contact with the perch. Without it the mount won't spin freely when assembled forcing the spring to bind when turning the wheel. The easiest way to find out whats happening is to jack the front by the center jack point, remove front wheels, secure jack stands under control arms away from rotors and steering, and have someone slowly turn the wheel. You will see the spring binding then unloading making that clunking noise.

Let me know before we send out new struts. I thought I had asked you if you had checked this and you said yes.

Added the washers and the seal to the mounts. Imagine that NO NOISE. Massive thumbs up to Kris and her team from helping out. I'm a genuine brand name snob and rolled the dice on this setup and have nothing but props for the product and customer service. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a good ride and adjustable drop.

Thanks again.
