It's a shame that he doesn't want to SHARE his project here anymore.

Personally, his project was a lot more interesting than any psychoanalytical crap about why he feels the way he does.

However are there psychoanalytical forums for the touchy feely types interested in such things?

TT_S54:

Watched videos. What a handful!

Did you put much effort into the modifications of the head to get 9K RPM? New cams, valves, springs or retainers maybe? I presume you didn't put in a VANOS delete right?

To rev 9000-9100 rpm I have produced my own retainers, that is bought raw titanium, cnc cut, test fit, heat process.... first step was custom made, actually home made retainers.
Lower retainers are not titanium, they are steel.

Valves are custom made, learnt a hard lesson, when a off the shelf valve let go at 8600 rpm one day, causing a total loss of engine. From there on I decided to get custom valves, custom means material and weight.

As of today, I have 5 different sets of camshafts. Still 1 set of them not tested.

DLC coated rocker arms.

Vanos is on the car, vanos delete caused loss of torque, tested back in 2007.

Impressive indeed!

Have crank harmonics been of any concern to you? PIE330CI has mentioned to another user how they increase with RPM and Power. Some people have a SuperDamper piece that is supposed to help.

Stock S54 comes with sodium filled exhaust valves, probably to help cool them. The engine has oil squirters in the head that squirt oil over the exhaust valves. Are your custom valves sodium filled as well? Does this feature seem important to you?

If you have a foto of your TT setup and exhaust manifold, please post them. Car pron is always welcome here.

As well.

But also over the springs and valve stems on the exhaust side of the S54 head... if my info is correct.

The valve rocker/follower rail is dual purpose on the exhaust side.

Same PN for all rockers. I have a spare empty head in my basement, I'm not home now but I'll grab a picture tomorrow of both rails and I can confirm.
