Season has started.

Practice was last night. Aside from the loss of Bob Varsha, NBC Sports is about identical to Speed coverage.

That was an interesting race. Odd how much pace some had in qual that didn't translate to race. More so than recent years. I look forward to see what this year brings.

McLaren looks like sh!t. Switching front suspension might prove to be idiotic. It took Ferrari most of last year to work out the kinks and I still question the risk / reward with that setup.

I can only think that McLaren were aware they'd be shyte this year like Ferrari was the beginning of last year, but that their strong development pace would save them, and they would have a firm basis for 2014 rule changes.

But still, looooool McLaren.

Tires are really interesting, I was surprised Sutil suffered so badly on the SS at the end with the light car, figured he had the strategy on point and was in a good position to best use those SS, but in the end, it was kind of a crap shoot as to who could manage them best.

What are the rules with the new tires? Do they still have to use a set of the hard compound and a set of the new compound or is that no longer the case? Sorry about the noob question. Still learning the ins and outs of F1.

They still have to use both tire compounds. If it rains, and they use the inters or full wet, then they dont have to use both dry compounds.

I knew Hamilton and Mercedes wouldn't win the GP, but he just proved that he didn't need McLaren to competitive. I really think that throughout the season Mercedes will challenge RBR, Ferrari, and McLaren.

Edit: Sutil was a pleasant surprise to be leading the race for as lobg as he did to bad he couldn't get the SS to work for him.

He had 7 podiums last year and a win. I think he will exceed his performance from last year.
