I'm uploading the 330 video but I've been comparing two videos at Texas World Speedway where I did a 1:59:01 in my 330 and a 2:01:01 in my M3. The interesting part was that the M3 was about as fast down the straights as the 330 (grant it...about 150 lbs lighter than the 330). There 2 places where the 330 whipped the M3. The 330 gained a good second entering the braking zone into T1 until T3. Then the 330 gained a good 2 seconds from the tight 180 to the front straight. I attribute that to a poor alignment.

Interesting. While there is a HP deficit, the 20mm wider tires and NT01s on the M3 (330 - 255 RS3s, M3 - 275 NT01s) make this car, just from my butt dyno, way faster in the corners. I just need to get the rear alignment sorted so the car is better balanced and I can put down the power better coming out of the corners.

330

M3

Ok, 1 year update. Haven't had the chance to do a lot to the car since I have moved to Milwaukee and the car is still in Houston. I have driven it at quite a few track days since because I travel to TX quite a bit.

Last March...spun 3 rod bearings and ovaled a rod. 101k miles on the clock. Engine was rebuilt. Head and VANOS looked great.

CP Rods
JB Racing Flywheel
VAC coated undersized main and rod bearings

I've since installed the Bimmerworld Resonated Race exhaust and electric fan. Still have not reinforced the rear subframe...no cracks yet. So I'm about to move the car to Milwaukee so I can get her back into shape. I've been driving the crap out of it, parking it and then flying back to WI.

Here are some videos from the past year...

A/C is out. It is amazing at how much room taking the A/C out frees up! Makes installing headers look easy.
