Thanks
So far it's pretty cool for being a 3.0l SUV
Thought it was going to have a lot less power

^ really? 3.0 is ok? I keep getting told that a V8 is a must, looking to replace a Honda CR-V with an X5 or an X3 soon, have been shying away from x5 because the v8's are such maintenance whores... I guess we need to go test drive both...

Great looking combo!

test drive both... because i'm in Canada and the V8's are hard to come by and overpriced. i could only find 2 but both out of my price range so i didn't even get to test drive it.

X5 is mainly the wifey's so she didn't care about the V8, she wanted Alpine white with a lot of "gadgets" and this had almost all the options so she jumped at
it came with the canadian Sport Pkg (boo) and Tech Package, we might add rear entertainment Pkg and get some coding done on it.

*canadian sports pkg doesn't include the fun sports button unless you get the DHP option an i didn't know at the time of purchase*

we paid 22k for it so from what i've been told on the xoutpost board that's not too bad for an Alpine White E70.

in regards to power y'all might think it's not fast (272hp, ? torque) but u gotta remember i'm coming for a 325i so it's plenty powerful compared to my E46.

i was pretty pissed at first she didn't push for the V8 but i'm next in line for a new car so best believe im going for something more powerful..
i'm looking to sell the E46 soon possibly as the value is already 60% less then what i paid for it almost 4 yrs ago hence why i might have to sell it sooner then later so i can at least get something not so depressing for it
i'm currently looking at an E60 M5, figured i can't be a true BMW owner until i've owned an //M series
looking to purchase by the end of the year and sell my car by the end of summer.
will probably post later on looking for suggestion in regards to my next purchase once i figure out the price range i'll be able to go with, hoping around 38k

out of curiosity since it's been on my mind a lot lately and i don't technically need 2 vehicles and could hold out until the end of the year...
after looking through my thread what would you value my 3er at?
currently 148k km's
??

I wouldn't have a clue, my car is never being sold or traded...

If I were in your shoes, I would do a lot of research. Start with KBB.com, Edmunds.com, etc for a base number or range; next check ebay and craigslist for similar cars, adjust range as necessary; finally check BMW forums (such as this one) for similar cars and decide on a final asking price.

Good luck!

i've been looking around and most cars are stock lady driven, similar km's for $9900+

i'm not really looking to part out since most parts were professionally installed and i don't wanna pay to put it back to stock
other then that i don't see any modded cars to compare prices with

was thinking of throwing up a feeler price of 14k

Professionally installed or not, unfortunately "mods" do not add value to a vehicle. At least not to any "modern" vehicle...

Sounds like you have a tough decision ahead of you, over-pricing a car can be very frustrating when the days, weeks and months pass with little to no serious interest. Where as pricing it right, telling it goodbye and moving on to the next vehicle might be worth it (in not being frustrated) in the long run...

Best of luck!

I was only meaning professionally installed as in I would not be able to remove mods and part them out, not really in regards to value
I'm not on a hurry to sell at least
I kind of dont even want to part with her I'm just worried about the depreciation if I keep it longer
I know if I sell after summer they will have announced another 3er and my value will decrease more

I'm going to start letting ppl know who wanted it before to gauge some interest and get a feel on what ppl are looking to pay

But im going to replace my angel eyes next up as the passenger one has gone dim on me

will be throwing a FEELER classified ad out for my car as it's just sitting in the garage at the moment.
going to throw it up at 15k obo and see what i can get as a lot of ppl in my town love the car.
since we've purchased an E70 it's taken over as our daily driver and i might as well see if there's any interest and start looking for an E60 M5

After not actively selling the car I have 3 offers on the vehicle
one being by my brother in law so he's got priority at the moment
Reason for my post is I'm going to start looking for my new vehicle
I was hoping something 08-09+
Between $35k-48k max or $700/monthly
I've been really wanting to stay with BMW but the depreciation is upsetting
I was thinking 09 M5 or 08 M6 but haven't seen one in my price range just yet, pretty close tho
If not I was looking at 09 Cadillac cts-v or 08-09 Nissan gtr if the price lowers a bit
Will probably buy in Jan as I still have my E70 X5 as my daily and winter will be here in no time anyway
plus it will give me time to research and and find the right car

Any suggestions?

can't say it worked out for me as i really didn't wanna sell it but if i was going to get rid of it and upgrade in the future i had to do it soon cuz they value went to **** and i put a fair amount of money in it
i miss it already and regret selling it but since my bro in law bought it i still get to drive it whenever and have been controlling the modding bug that's hit him

i'm not going to bother making a move for a new car until after winter in hopes of a bit of price drops and i don't usually drive my cars in winter anyways
have the X5 to hold me over until then

still looking for M5, M6, GTR or CTS-V
hoping to find a 09+ but prices are pretty high on those so may have to go with 08
