Angel eyes wont turn 'Always on'

Hi,

I installed the angel eyes two weeks ago and it worked fine for a little bit with the key in position 2, after that it just wont work. The lock/unlock feature still works though. My connection is all perfect, checked it several times. I have been in touch with khoalty (thats where i bought them from) and they have been very helpful and even shipped me a new harness. Even that gives me the same problem.

I checked the 12v wire using a voltmeter and it outputs correctly. Now i know i couldnt have blown a fuse.

Anybody have an idea what could it be?

Yes, it wont turn on when the key is in ignition or when the engine is running.

There is two triggers wire taps for the angel eyes, one to the ECU accessory wire(on when the car is on), one to the passenger footwell light(on when interiors lights are on).

+1 did you wire it to the ECU?

Sorry for not being clear. Yes, I tapped both wires, the interior foot well and the 12v wire in the ecu box. It worked worked well for a while. Then I could see it flickering while driving and then it died. I am not sure if I blew a fuse.
The interior lights and accessories work perfect..

Re-check all of your connections. Even on the ECU. The splice connector might have come lose. Make sure it cuts through the insulation. Test for voltage output.

Your ECU connection isn't good. I've had this problem, the wire you are tapping into for the footwell is thinner than the ECU wire. I had to use wire cutters to expose enough of the wire to make a proper connection on the ECU wire.

My problem was that my lights would sometimes work when I was driving and sometimes not, but always fine with the footwell

Man... This problem just happened to me two days ago. I was driving and hit a hole and when I got to a store I realized they were off. Right now I just checked the ECU box and everything seems fine. What ended up happening to your problem does it work fine now?

I've had them for about 3 months I would say. I don't think its anything from the heat cause right after I hit the pot hole they just don't turn on when the car is on. Only when the interior lights are on is when they work... I'll probably just re-cut again for another wire on the ECU box.... It's just weird though...

I had a similar problem. The ecu wire triggers the relay and the power comes through the fuse holder. The interior signal wire powers the modules directly to allow the dimming to work and is protected by the interior lighting fuse inside the car. My issue was a bad crimp connection of the wire going into the fuse holder of the angel eye harness. That caused flickering or intermittent lighting while driving, but they always came on with the remote feature.

Sorry for not updating this thread. There was a problem with the ground wire not being screwed tight enough. Who would have known that was the issue unless i went around trying my hand at everything.

Anyway thanks for the suggestions.
