Hmmm...guess I assumed you had....since your comparing yourself to someone who has run countless 8's.

Saad Keep up the good work! I'll listen to the guy who has ACTUALLY been there...done that!

Saad has never done 8 secs in an e46 m3. He does have some very fast times in a supra though. Mert has never done 8 secs either, but he does have the fastest 60-130 times in an e46 m3. So I'd say they both stand equal in the convo about 8 second passes in an E46 M3!

Yeah with a 4.23s 60-130, I'd say an 8 second 1/4 mile is plausible with a good driver and proper traction.

Is it that easy? A year ago, before we started working on M3's, the quickest time was 11 seconds. The Saad Racing/ProEfi M3 went down the track less then 10 times and ran 10.5. There was a lot of claimed "1000hp" cars, where was your "proper traction" then?

Also, its a lot harder to fake a quarter mile then it is to fake a 60-130 and a dyno. That is why we should all expect to see videos and proper proof.

I like when people give there opinions on a forum. I know how this will turn out and what the opinions will look like when it does

Never said easy. I said plausible. Lose the attitude.

That rational makes less than zero sense. Someone who obviously has years and countless trips to the dragstrip running a small engine big turbo car DEEP in to the 8's, and has already with very LITTLE effort set records with the M3, against someone who has done what? Guys have been trying to run 10's in the M3 for over 5 years, he comes out and does it in less than 10 tries and that means nothing? Seriously? And you think they are on Equal ground? 60-130 runs have absolutely NOTHING in common with drag racing...NOTHING! Drag racing is all about the first 60', not the last 60 to 130mph. That's like saying a Bonneville car that went 300mph will go out and run high 4's in the quarter mile.....not going to happen. You either know how to drag race or you don't the platform makes little difference. I know guys that have set records with every platform they put their hands on. Doesn't matter if it's a Chevy, or a Honda.

Although this is off topic. A fast 60-130 time shows good rwhp or awhp whatever, power under the curve, and traction. You would need all of those to run under 5 seconds from 60-130 seeing as a veryron does it something like mid 5 seconds. Set the same car up with drag radials, 2 step, and a LOT of time tweaking suspension then you'll also have a competitive car in the 1/4. An 8 second car will have a very fast 60-130 time and vice versa. You must remember that an 8 second car will trap more than 130 mph.

A bonneville car will have a horrible 60-130 btw.

I never said Saad could not run 8s. I am simply not counting Mert out of the race either. I am pretty sure that Mert does have a wealth of knowledge and he seems to know a thing or 2 about traction. So I'd guess that his low 4 second 60-130 m3, could DEFINITELY run a 10 second pass. I am not disregarding the records that Saad has already accomplished. But in the battle for 8s, I believe there are a handful of people that have a shot at doing it first. Having the ingredients for one platform to run 8s does not mean you can do it in another. But if that is the case, I would probably put my money on the guys at Maxpsi doing it first in the US, since they do have the fastest BMWs in the country (iirc) and their e46 m3 hit low 11s on their first time out with much less power. So I'd say if they actually had a car with equal power, my vote goes to them. But in the end, I'd be happy seeing any of them do it. I side with no one. I just like to see all of these guys pushing this platform further and further.

You said the key words, "a LOT of time", like 5 years? Just because you can run 60 - 130, doesn't mean you have a clue on how to set a car up for drag racing. Trap speed is your indicator of how efficient your E.T. was. In Saads video, he has an 8.9 @ 154 MPH! That tells me, he knows what he is doing. He also has his M3 at a 10.54@134, that also tells me he knows what he is doing with the M3. To compare what he knows to someone who really has no idea is simply ludicrous! I don't understand how you can connect those dots at all.

Saad, how many passes did you make in your M3? I only see a couple of videos? Just trying to get an idea on what you feel is in this platform compared to the Supra. What other cars have you done? Just the Supra?

With regards to traditional drag racing, big block motors, etc .. yes the 60' is where a significant portion of the et is determined.. however with small displacement big turbo cars the et is generally made on the back half. I'm willing to bet Saad's 8 second supra doesn't cut more than a 1.5 60ft.. my car net a 1.7+ 60ft and ran a 10.56 @ 142.. so a good 60-130ft may not mean much as for 1/4 times but it certainly can't be completely discredited.

Those cars that were 'struggling' to hit 11's were doing so with 2.x 60ft's on 18" drag radials. Had any one of them put slicks on with anti-lag they'd have likely hit 10's.. high 10's.. but 10's none the less.

Once again, not taking anything away from anyone who's hit 10's thus far but everyone's just reaching the tip of the iceberg.. the difficult part is now to come.. 9's. Simply putting slicks on with anti-lag isn't going to net you 9's, this is where everyone starts getting creative and the experience comes into play. Which yes, Saad has plenty of.

Doesn't matter what engine is in it...the better the 60' the better the E.T. Turbo or otherwise. I would bet to run 8.2x @173mph....his 60 had to be in the 1.3x's unless he blew his engine at 1000' and was on a 185mph pass.
