Your argument hinges on there not being a difference between "homie got MONEY action" and "that guy's got money."

Do you think it's inherently racist to pay attention to crime statistics in one's area?

Scrubbing the race information, lets say a member of a group making up less than 6% of your state's population but accounting for 38% of robberies makes a slang comment about the price of your clothes/watch/shoes. Is it wrong to be skeptical of that person's motivations, given their group's disproportionate amount of crime and that person's seemingly uneducated language? Or is it incumbent on that person to assume the best and interpret it as a simple compliment on their sartorial decisions that day?

yes. straight up yes, it is wrong. statistics are a reflection of a group, not an individual and even if an individual belongs to the group in question, it's wrong to base assumptions about he/she on their complete lack of choice in being a part of that group. you can say "most nazis are assholes." being a nazi is a choice. you can't say "this kid is 38% more likely to rob me than the other kids." your hypothetical is entirely wrong.

Another topic change: for those of you who are salary+bonus, what do you consider a "good" bonus? I don't care about the raw dollar amounts - lets speak in percentages.

When I was in a firm. I got about a paycheck (two weeks) bonus. It was the post tax amount, but still nice since not directly tied to any metric.

Typically document review/due diligence work, like what he has been doing, is the domain of larger firms doing big deals. Most smaller firms don't do that kind of work unless it's on a contract basis for a larger firm.

I have never been on salary as a lawyer. For me, it has always been "eat what you kill."

So about 1/24 or 4% - did you feel that was good, bad, neutral?

Edit: 4% post-tax so like 6-7% pre-tax.

Lol
You are being serious?

I posted on my fb about how I was listening to "regulate" by warren g while driving to long beach
That's where I was last night
The song is about warren g getting held up for his money in long beach
"They taking warren's wealth"
When nate dogg comes to the rescue
And then they go find big bootied women to please them

Some kid on the street makes a comment out loud that kinda makes sense but is still weird as hell
I jokingly posted about getting jacked because I was in long beach ... "regulate"

Do I have to show you pictures of myself with my black friends to show how I am not a racist? Lol
But only racists do that, right?
I can't believe you want to turn that little post into a racial thing

OK - 10%

Good - 20%

Great - 30%+

Edit: I think you might see a pretty wide variety of answers depending on industry.

We are opening an office in EDH

We will have our hands in several cookie jars
I will tell you more privately
Don't want to discuss it too much before we actually get started

Ha! Hardly. But there's something about having payroll coming up at the end of the week that...motivates me to make sure we keep plugging away.
