Intermittent Headlight Problem- moves from side to side

I have a 2005 330ci Convertible w/Sport and been experiencing an intermittent problem which originally started affecting headlight on the driver's side only where the dash display for my left headlight would come on sometimes and sometimes not. It has now escalated now and the problem moves from one side of the car the other. I stood in front of the car myself and watched the xenon lights flickering on and off and sometimes move from one side to the other. I had replace both headlight bulbs about a little over a year ago however I recently had my headlights adjusted. Could this have caused the problem? If it is the ballast or igniter, approx how much would it cost to replace in the SF Bay Area in California as this is looking like I will need to take it in for service.

Any assistance would be appreciated! Thanks in advance for responding!

Are your headlights xenons? Mine are, and they're doing this as well. Sometimes the bulb-out symbol comes on and it's the turn signal that stopped, followed by the headlight flashing like lightning, followed by everything working once again.

Had the same problem. Found a loose bulb (high beam). Pushed bulb firmly in socket. Walla

I reseated the bulb but no luck. I also noticed that this problem with my head lights going on and off/flickering has started to vary now and moves from driver to passenger side. I resently had my headlights adjusted and don't know if this would cause this to happen. If I need to replace the igniter or balist can anyone tell me approx how much it cost in California for the SF Bay area? Thanks!

I had an issue where one light would go out intermittently. Turned out to be a broken wire inside the housing. I was able to get in with a soldering iron and fix it.

Open the housing cover and carefully examine all the wires for breaks. The break w may be inside and look line a narrowing or kink in the wire.

Good luck
