talk button on the 330xi

I have the talk button on my 330xi 2004, but only a regular stereo. When I open up the trunk I see that the car is set up for BMW phone and the cieling of the car has a microphone in it. How can I set up my iphone to use this functionality?

Your car is pre-wired for the phone, but you will still need a couple of things to make it work. The console on the ceiling has a plug for the microphone that you need to get from the dealer (maybe others). Check here

http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp

for PlainTalk Blutooth plug-and-play receiver unit that is compatible with the iPhone and your pre-wired system.

I bought the Parrot CK3000 Evolution and the Connects 2. The enclosed link is for the instructions I followed. It cost me about $180, I bought the CK3000 used on eBay. I don't know what the differande between the bavauto and the CK3000 & Connects 2 is but I bet they are the same with the Bavauto comming with instructions.

I needed to change my FSU and I did them both at the same time. Both need the glove box out.

As others have said, your car is wired for phone but not phone enabled. If your car has BMW Assist, it already has the microphone so you will need the bluetooth module and the antenna. The total cost for this is ~$350.

With mine, I went the Parrot bluetooth route and it works great for ~$175.

Your choice.

Anything that would offer both Bluetooth audio and phone purposes
