Engine vibration question from novice

Hey guys I have a question, I've been searching all night and can't find a solid answer...

I have an 03 330ci 97,000 miles and when the car is in park there is no vibration but when i put the car in reverse or drive there is a slight vibration when completely stopped (none when driving).

The spark plugs haven't ever been changed and I was wondering if this could be the issue but then I thought if it was the spark plugs wouldn't it vibrate even in park?

I had the rear main seal of the engine changed at about 70,000 miles or so, and I would assume they changed the transmission mounts at that time and also they had at that time told me the engine mount or mountS where bad and had to be changed so I'm ruling the mounts out for now.

Can someone let me know about the spark plug and if bad spark plugs only cause vibration when in drive or reverse or they should vibrate while in park also.

Thanks

Don't rule out mounts, they're probably the cause. They wouldn't have changed them with a rear main.

Misfires are unlikely.

Does it vibrate in neutral? Does it feel like the idling stables off when placing it into neutral? If so, motor mounts

There are two. It's impossible to know if you need trans mounts without looking at them, and even then they can look OK and not be. There are two of those as well.

I'm dealing with this issue myself. when I gather up some money and time I'll need to do this also. if motor mounts are bad then I would expect tranny mounts are also or not far behind

also if you prefer a vibration free idle and smoother quieter car, look for OEM or non stiff mounts. installing stiff mounts may increase performance in some way but you will sacrifice comfort and your sanity.
