What wants to connect in my car via bluetooth?

I have a 2005 330xi that I purchased used and it has a Dynavin stereo system in it. When I start the car, I'll check my iPhone for bluetooth connections. When I do, I see Dynavin (the bluetooth in the head unit), localhost (bluetooth in the android part of the dynavin), and BMW39412. I have no idea what that last one is, and it requires a pin. The only other bluetooth element in that car that I know of is my ScanTool OBDLink MX adapter, but that only shows up on the android unit.

Any thoughts as to what it is?

You may be right. I didn't realize that the 2005 could have it built in. I assumed even if it was, it was part of the head unit, but after further research, it sounds like it may be in the center arm rest. Not sure if it has any function though, since the dash unit had been replaced by the Dynavin. Maybe I'll get the chance to inspect this weekend.

Is 39412 the last 5 of your VIN? If so, I expect it is your car's OEM bluetooth.

If you plan to use it (sounds like you are not), the passkey can be found on the ULF in the trunk.

And now I need to take a look at the ULF as I had no idea what it was until recently! Thanks

As a further FYI, the passkey is often on the underside of the ULF.

Have a Fuba factory installed Bluetooth. Were can I find the pin# since that booklet is missing. Also how many numbers for the pin# am I looking for on a factory installed unit?
