My Ride: What else?
We shot a bunch of guns while shopping for my wife, including the Bersa........it was pretty freaking snappy for my liking (stung my fingers a few times). She didn't care for it either.

And while she could handle the recoil on all the 9mms just fine, she struggled with racking the slide on most (which is another important consideration for women). I had to chamber a round for her each time, which is pretty pointless IMO.

We ended up with a Walther PK380, mostly because it was the weapon she was most comfortable with overall (key word here). I would have preferred a 9mm, but I would have been forcing the issue, as she was starting to get pretty visibly frustrated ......and we all know how that story ends.

I agree the biggest obstacle with my wife is also with working the slide. She just needs more practice. I plan to show her a few of the smaller ones to let her make the decision for her needs.

The slide on the PPS isn't too bad. I also have a Springfield EMP. That slide is a bitch compared to the PPS. As long as you have the correct grip on the slide I do not see an issue working it. The ex-girlfriend never had an issue.

We ordered 10 Gen4 Glock 22s as part of our upgrade program for our duty pistols. The guns that are used by current and former SWAT guys are getting replaced first. We made the order for the Glocks at the beginning of January. Sounds like we're getting those Glocks in a week or two.

disadvantage of not cleaning your pistol: inhaling hundreds of rounds of gunpowder when you tinker with it

Perhaps you should stop responding. It's a no-win for you here. :dunno:

Well my small order of JHP was canceled because I didn't have an I.D. on file. Is that common with online ammo orders? Cabela's hasn't asked for my ID and I backordered some FMJ. Is it because it's JHP?

I've never had to do that, but it varies with your state of residence and perhaps the vendor.

Wiedners and Aimsurplus I believe require ID...if you read the checkout pages they make it painfully clear that you have to upload an accepted ID.

I was in a rush before it sold out on gunbot; just checking on how often companies do it.

The working theory over on Lightfighter is that he was so used to the EOTurd not working that he literally noticed no difference when he didn't see the reticle.

Regardless of the reason for this mistake, there's no excuse. This is 100% absolute FAIL and whoever is responsible for the training of this officer needs to be reprimanded or sent to remedial training, and the supervisor responsible for this officer's weapon status should be throat-punched in the locker room.
There was speculation that an officer may have done this to his partner as a prank, but that would be an absolute NO-GO for pranks.
One SWAT guy I talked to said that they kicked someone off their own SWAT team for doing a prank like this.

If this was't a prank, it's an outright training failure. This officer has failed, and those responsible for his training failed him. This is the problem with agencies that approve weapons and accessories without doing any additional education/training verification.

I'm currently working on a DMR and Heavy Carbine program for my agency, and I have a pretty definitive list of equipment, training and proficiency requirements. Obviously this agency in the photos doesn't.
