So for those of you selecting performance snows, what are you using? Blizzaks or something else?

Yes I have the base system and bike rack. Can email pictures if you would like? Or swing by SLP and I can show it to you.

I run Michelin X-Ice2 tires. They work good for me but I'll be trying a different brand next time around.

I'm currently going to school in Duluth at UMD. When final are done in May i'm looking to take a trip down to Tail Of The Dragon in between the end of finals and the start of summer session. Wanted to see if there was any interest in getting a couple other cars together for a trip? I might be picking up a couple friends in Chicago with their Porsche and Lotus (maybe/65% sure).

I know a few fellas from the cities have taken their M's for a valve lash adjustment.

MinnesotaM3;15230565]anyone adjust their own valves? im going to attempt to do this myself once the snow melts and all the potholes are fixed.

I've run the Dunlop Wintersports in the past on my old M3, and they were fantastic. I was very impressed with them. I've also heard a lot of positive comments about the Bridgestone and Continental offerings. I've used the Goodyear offerings on work vehicles, and they SUCK. Goodyear in general makes pretty sub-par tires in my experience.

Winter snow/ice tires work good for non-performance vehicles like my shltty Mazda. I have gotten two seasons out of a set of Bridgestone WS60s, and likely could get a third if I wasn't getting rid of it. My incoming F30 will have either Dunlop or Bridgestone performance tires.

Agreed. The goodyear snows on the winter wheels I bought are horrible. They measure out as being only 50% worn, but they're crap.

My wife's hankooks are on their fourth winter, and they perform as new.

Putting your wheels on this early in the season before the potholes are filled.... BALLSY.
Of course, you live in St. Paul, so they won't get filled anyways. I guess it's about as good as it's going to get.

My summer wheels went on yesterday...but they don't look like that.

Now all I need is a good wash and I'm set to go.

My Ride: 2002 BMW 330CI Vert
I tried to start my car yesterday but no luck before the winter the o2 sensor went bad. I decided to change it after the winter. I'm not sure if it's wont start becuse of the sensor or a bad fuel. So, I placed an order for a fuel filter and sparkplugs last night. It will change them this week or next weekend and hope it will start.

I should of been more clear.
$9k or under, manual transmission only. Sedans only, no care for the ZHP tax either. Must have heated seats. NO junk/salvage title. No red.

Twin Cities potholes can't be that bad compared to here in Duluth
I drive like 1.5 miles to UMD Campus from my apartment and every time i'm so fearful i'm going to break something.

I found out Duluth doesn't use the traditional snowplows up here, instead we use one of these (it's no wonder the roads up here suck)

They are just as bad if not worse. We have a lot more roads and more traffic. Not to mention more road work.
