Battery dies after 4 days of not driving.

Went and got a brand new AGM battery thinking it would help....nope. Like clockwork, after four days of being parked the battery dies. Is this a common issue or is something running that shouldn't be running? I installed a battery disconnect switch but now I have to reset my clock all the time. Pita...

What could be running that draws that much power? What's the best way to narrow down the search and pinpoint the issue?

This was happening to me a while back, I don't know if it drained as quickly as 4 days but definitely within a week or two. It was my final stage resistor, which kept the fan blowing while the car was turned off.

Like it says above, the FSR is a common issue.

I'm not even sure what the fsr is or where it's located. Anyone care to explain?

I believe the above linked thread has a video in how to replace the FSR. I'm sure someone with more knowledge can chime in on its particulars.

Would it be quiet or would I be able to hear it if it were running? I have none of the symptoms with my a/c, it works fine. Just dead battery every few days.

I guess just turn on the fan then turn the car off for a while and wait to see if the fan keeps blowing

Was your a/c acting up or was the battery drain the only symptom?

You should connect an ammeter and monitor the rest current.

you dont always get the A/C symptoms, it just slowly drains your battery.

Do you have anything plugged into the cigarette lighter socket? Mine continues to draw juice after turning off the car.

No. Fuse was blown for awhile so it wasn't even being used.

Not sure if that link covered this but do cluster test #9 for voltage next time the car is on...and check it off too...should be around 12.2 off and 13.8-14 when on. If it's not above 13.5 it's just the alternator.

Check all the cables and grounds for tightness and corrosion and pull up on battery cables, your might be tightened but not really on the terminals tight.
