I think it is the ignition switch too. It makes the car act weirdly. For instance, with me, everything worked. Except sometimes, the car would keep cranking and it would not fire.

^ never had a starting issue...

While checking fuse box, I noticed the fuses #1-15 had very low voltage (light was very dimm on tester) with the key in pos II.

I dbl checked on friends e46 and his lit up bright...

Can someone give me some advice where the main ground is for the fuses?

Are you connections at the battery tight? What about at the alternator? Ground strap between the body and engine?

How is the amp output of the alternator, may have the right voltage but not enough amps?

Just took out the fuse box... its one section that gets only 5.8 volts while all others get 11.6. Its all fuses #1-15 first row on the upper left...

It seems to me I lost ground to those items. Need to see where the bunch from that section goes to. (Where main ground is located)

I need someone who has some experience from taking this crap out.

The fuse panel lifts up from the two back corners. Don't be surprised if you can't unclip it while it's in there. I did what everyone does...remove glovebox...screws all around...two hiding by 'string' hinges and two beneath...also under trim above I believe.

Then, just trace the wires and good luck...sounds like that's a significant find likely to yield a solution.

I did all that and those wires go back into the front wall... hard to read where it goes. I took out the K Bus port, Ill look into this and see if I see any drop in voltage if one wire is taken out.

Ok. I just did the obc check #9 and my battery shows 11.6 when all off. Im shocked because my multimeter is showing 12.4 directly. It could be also because i was playing with it the day before. ... so I dont know if its my battery. Its 4 years old. Also when on, obc shows 14.1 while my meter shows 13.8...

Any suggestions?

oh...assuming you're driving it enough to charge the battery fully....but a good battery, even low on power seems to still put out the right voltage...11.6 is down, again, unless you've been doing a lot of short trips, leaving your lights on...

You should check your fuses in your E-Box. There are fuses in the E-Box that supplies 12v to several fuses.

I do not have my manual with me, but if you are only getting 5v instead of 12v, on a row of fuses, I would suspect the supply to those fuses. Ground has nothing to do with It.

^ could it be one of the relays as well? And do you mean in the fuse box by the driver side firewall? I did notice about 5 fuses in one row within a casing but didnt check that yet.

Yes, there are 5 fuses in the E-Box (only 4 used) in the engine compartment. Just use your Meter to check voltages at the fuses. Try pushing them down to seat them.

Relays are specific to each item, ie: horn, fuel pump etc.

Wont start with handbrake up? Wtf is up with that? The only thing I can think of that could even cause something whack like that would be...... an aftermarket kill switch installed as part of a security system as part of one or more requirements needed to satisfy in order for the car to start. Weird....
