Is this better than the Peake Scanner?
I've read pros and cons for both. I need one that will reset the "Check Engine Soon" light and read codes.
How hard is the BMW Scanner 1.4.0 to use? (Is it easy to screw things up).

Thanks

It is pretty easy to use. Might be a little more work if you are using windows 7.

I have a laptop running Windows XP.
What all do I need to get this up and working?
I have an SES light on I need to reset. Also interested in
programming my windows and flash lights when I lock & unlock the car.

That's about the price of a new one.
Can you do better on the price?

Really, price for a new unit it's $149.99 shipping not included (peake research website). But if you can find a new unit for $135.00 more power to you...
