Gotcha, I'll give it a shot this week. Maybe start with an e46 m3 if they have one or a 335i

Once they start getting used you can drive one.
That makes sense.

I've been doing this since I had my permit 2 years ago...there's a couple cars I haven't been allowed to drive though. I usually go alone, sometimes with my dad as a backup lol.

I was 16, at the time but yeah cheap cars. I just would go in with my dad and have him say something like "I'm buying my son his first car what are your options?" And I took it from there. It's all about how you present yourself.

First, I have to say that my 9-5 job IS test driving cool cars at a dealership with no intention of buying them. LOL. I'm really nice to them though, probably too nice

Never. All I can think of is the poor guy who gets stuck buying the car afterwards.

You all are the reason it's worth it to buy a new car.

18th birthday my mother went with me with the story we were looking for a car for me for my 18th birthday (I could show them my DL to show I wasn't lying) (Remember this is 2003).

350z (horrific blind spots)
RX-8 (horrific power)
Impreza WRX STi (too expensive)
S2000 (sex on wheel...if I was gay I would have made anal love to that damn shifter)
Mustang (omg it was terrible)
330i ZHP (never stalled out so many times in my life)

I've done it... and still do. Who know... Maybe I'll leave the lot with a car one of these days.

I've driven 1-2 that I wasn't serious about buying, but I didn't beat on them during the test drive. I'm not one to wring out a car with a salesman in the car. On a solo test drive I'll push it a bit, but nothing like in the Cobra test drive video.

i test drove a cadillac cts a couple years ago because GM was running a promotion where you get two ski lift tickets to a vermont mountain if you test drove a car. i made up some bs story about how i was considering a 3 series or c class, but was willing to give the cts a try because of the promotion. it was kinda fun, but i felt bad about wasting the salesman's time. i've never driven a porsche though...

I'm the opposite, I don't because I'm afraid I might buy it.

However, I do get invited to a lot of introduction to new models from BMW, MB, and Porsche. They will have new models for me to test drive on a road course as well as an autocross course. I always go to those unless I am busy Porsche ones are the best.

Did they automatically give you the tickets or did you have to ask for them?
