stop smoking commercials

is it just me or is enough enough? I never smoked a day in my life and I need to lose my appetite every time I see gross ass ish they relate to smoking. Someone lost their fingers, someone needs a voice-box to talk, someone is wheezing and spits up blood, etc etc etc... Anyone on this board smoke and stop smoking after seeing those commercials?? I put my money on none. Actually I'd like to see what the numbers are of people quitting because they saw the commercial. :end rant:

I don't think a single person ever quit because of those commercials. They are annoying and a waste of funds.

If channels are able to air these commercials, tobacco companies should be able to advertise on TV again. I hate these.

They're almost as depressing as the ASPCA animal cruelty commercials for which I have to change the channel every time it comes on

Used to be a smoker. They don't make you want to quit. If anything it makes you think about smoking then you want a cigarette. I think it's more to deter people from starting.

Dude, I found a place in Woodstock called Vaperite that sells nothing but ecig stuff. Excellent place. It's more expensive than ordering online, but it's super convenient and the staff is nice.

Here in Australia they have totally banned any sort of advertising for tobacco. this has been the case for 10-20 years. They also run regular anti-smoking commercials. Slowly, slowly the percentage of the population that smokes is dropping. I think, but don't quote me that it sits at about 17%

Word. The Marlboro cowboy was the best marketing campaign ever.

Yeah I have a full e-cig set up. I have 0 desire to smoke a cig. Regardless, as your doctor I recommend you supplement with marijuana

This happens to me. I tried to stop, but I keep falling back.

I think people stop smoking when something significant enters their life like a kid or something.

I really need and want to stop, but no these commercials don't help. Makes me a little depressed and think well "if I quit soon enough". I really need to get an e-cig or patch.

The commercials remind me TO smoke.

When I was in England, if you weren't lucky, you would get a pack with some really gross pictures.
