My Ride: slow and steady
Do it. My dad had one years ago.... drives like a dream. Ultimate cruising car and you will be the guy that everyone wants to ride with this coming summer.

If the interior is good, just get the thing running, new tyres and air con that works. A slight drop will improve handling and appearance. There's lots of stuff on the web about restorations of similar models including mechanical and suspension etc.

Good luck!

Classic look. If you have the time to restore it, take it on.

How much do they want for the Ford Escort to the right? J/K... It's not a station wagon!

Beautiful cars. Can't be in a hurry to get anywhere though! I had a w126 300sd while in high school. That car actually taught me a whole lot about how to work on cars. I definitely have a soft spot for the old diesels.

You're willing to pay for the space to store cars that don't work? Are u planning to open a museum? I don't get how normal folk (ie non billionaires) would want a car that doesn't work. Makes no sense no matter how pretty it looks. Buy a painting lol.

Nope def not in a hurry to get anywhere but I love it!

Little background on the car, I was given that car by my great uncle back in 2002 for my 18th bday present. It then had 150,000 on it and was mint! In 2006 a tanker truck rear ended me and totaled the car. I bought it back to keep it in he family and gave it to uncle (not the same one that have it to me). He fixes it up and drove it for work for a couple years. It was then pasted to my cousin who really ruined it. It was left outside for a year and half because he moved to Australia. Water was leaking into the car. The carpets were ruined but the seats are still perfect. I'm going to be pulling the engine on it soon and getting the car reprinted the same color. Little more engine work and suspension and ill have back in tip top shape.

That's my ZHP in the back round. I also just bought an 330XI for my wife and put the Benz in the garage to work on more.

That car was designed by Paul Bracq, one of my favorite car designers of all time. Even Mercedes themselves admit its one of the finest cars they ever produced.

That mbtex is hard to kill. Now are the seat pads doing though? Iirc you can just replace the horsehair seat pads.

Why are you pulling the motor?

It's eating like quart of oil per week, I can work on rebuilding it while the car is getting re-painted I had the oil changed at jiffy lube so I make weekly stop for my free top off LOL.

Seat pads are fine, feels the same as the first day I got the car.
