It looks like my Epipen (http://www.epipen.com/) which I carry around in case I am stung by a hornet, since I have a deadly allergy to them. Damn nice of BMW to look out for those of us that have a life threatening allergy! That's much better than a damn flashlight!
BTW, I found out about my deadly allergy to hornets, when one got in my car, and stung me. After a struggle to drive to the ER, the doctor told me, "That was a very strong reaction. The next one will probably kill you". WTF?!?! How am I supposed to deal with that little nugget of wisdom?

Dude, sorry but let me sell you some off road tires to put on your BMW since you completely skidded this thread off topic and taken us all off road for some rally cross adventure

How big is this cylinder? You have it by a measuring thing, but I have no idea of its size. Looks like an electrical connection and something that attaches firmly inside something else. I was going to guess 02 sensor in a new fangled design, but maybe it is a spring? We have a number of them...in therms, ccv, valves...

And, no, this thread hasn't skidded of its tracks. You need to be off by more than 50% of the posts for that to happen!

looks like a thing that might be used for variable timing solenoid, under the red cap looks like something screws into it like oil pressue or air pressue to activate it.

I'm so sorry I failed to recognize the severely serious nature of this request. I'll make a note to treat any future questions you post as the truly serious inquiries that they are. Please excuse my departure in proper demeanor, and momentary lapse into a frivolous tone.

But, as DMax pointed out, it is not officially a derail unless others joined in, and the topic had changed to a discussion about my post.

Is that a serious offer to purchase off road tires for me? I'll PM you my wheel specs.
