Found it.

This has never been shown publicly before? He used an S52 damper assembly , and had a 3rd custom pulley added to drive the supercharger. As you can see, it's a bit larger than OEM...I think maybe 6" or 6.2" diameter? The target was 15 PSI on a built engine, but I think the most he saw in the manifold was 13 PSI. Always suspected boost leaks....

If you don't know who's engine bay this is, you're living on the moon. I appreciate what is going on here. I think there is a better way. Depending on fuel, 13psi is acceptable on a stock block. If you have a set, studs (over torqued oem) the right fuel and tune. Decent numbers can be produced.

I understand what you are saying, as I have seen datalogs of the car running.

But....I've also seen a few other cases where the issue was hardware related, or install related, and was blamed on the vendor. Either the vendor is working with the OP, or they aren't, and even that's an interpretation of what the OP's expectations are.

Secondly, when you work on a car as a weekend hobby, or in this case a "when you're home on vacation" hobby, things are not going to progress at the rate that a professional shop would be able to achieve. You could have a list of 20 variables to check through one at a time, and if you're only able to get to 3 of them in a month, it will take some time to follow a troubleshooting flow-chart to the end.

Sure it makes sense that things should work properly right out of the gate, but there are so many variables that its impractical to point fingers.

All that said, I think Anthony has his own plans that are longer term than this thread implies.

That engine was fully built: 8.5:1 pistons, rods, studs, etc. The owner still has the car, but has moved on to an E92 M3, and some other toys. (Off-shore powerboats)

"Hey man..."

I miss getting emails from him.

I would, trust me but i'm likely going to sell my X5 4.8 and get a 35d. The gas mileage drives me nuts .. and I know the X5M gets even worse gas mileage than my 4.8!

Op sorry for going off-topic and Marcus, Don't crucify me for saying this but......

You may want to Consider the....... Audi Q7 3.5 Diesel.

we had a 2011 and damn if it did not get us a consistent Average of 650 Miles to the TANK! where as our new 2012 X5 3.5d hovers around the 490-520 mile area.

The BMW is a Tank compared to the Audi nimbleness but i believe the Torque is only off by 75ft.lbs IIRC.

My wife is still missing her X6 5.0i so much, now that they offer a 3rd seat, that's what were looking to for this year!

again, sorry for going off topic but i had to share my experience
