Strange: power top butten did nothing briefly this morning.

Really odd.. just thought I would share and ask for feedback?

Detailed the !@#!@#! out of the demon all day yesterday and then pushed it back into the driveway and put the top down. Once done, drove back into the garage with the top still down.

This morning leaving for work, went to put the top up and nothing. Pressed the up button, no light, no nothing. No sound, no motion, nothing, with the car running.

Checked latches, tried again another couple of times. Turned the car off, checked all of the fuses, all good, and tried again.

Fired her back up, and the button worked perfectly, top went right up.

Really odd.. any suggestions? I have looked over all of the cables (where pinches happen) and everything is intact, no issues that I am aware of.

When I was searching for help with my convertible issue I found a lot of posts like this with no definitive answer. I'd ignore it as a software glitch until it becomes a consistent repeatable problem.

I've owned my car since new (now 13 yrs) and have had this kind of problem many times PER YEAR! However, if the button doesn't work, then closing via the door lock will work and vice versa. The top has never failed to close one way or the other. So, if one way doesn't work, try the other. It well may for you, too. Another odd thing that has happened many times is that when I go to close the top via the door lock, the lock itself "fights" me and literally forces the key back in the other direction. When I took it to the dealer, they never could find anything wrong, no fault codes, nothing. So... don't worry, be happy!

Couldn't be happier with my amazing car I call the "Demon".. so so SO happy to be back in an e46 and then an M3 AND a VERT TOO!

But I appreciate the perspective.. I haven't tried top up or down by the door lock yet at all, will try that today just to check it out!

Thanks!
