I could browse through this thread forever so many clean tourings<3 I will say that I've decided that tourings look much better with roof rails. Wagons have a utilitarian spirit. Take away the roof rails, you take away some of the "utilitarian-ness"

Had to share this photo. 330i M-sport.

I want this car. What color are thoes seats though?

There tend to be two camps of touring people.

The group that view their touring as a sporty hauler. (likes the roof rails)

The group that views their touring as a sporty HAULER! (removes the roof rails)

I am in group two... I like hauling my gear to the track, so far best drive to track car I have owned, then hauling around a track... The fact I can haul other stuff is just a bonus...

And its easier to wash and wax the roof

I can't remember the exact color but it was available in the M3's.

A European tease, we get so screwed here in the States.I'd kill for a true ZHP Wagon dammit.

I'm on the fence with my roof rails, I think some wagons look too squat without them. But I do prefer the slimmer rails they have on the new F31, I think it finds just the right balance.

I thought I read somewhere that if you remove the roof rails that you could still put an OEM rack on a wagon. Then you can be in both groups listed above, store the racks in the back (or in your garage) for when you need the utility, remove them for when you don't.

I still don't (yet) own a wagon, so don't hold me to this, but that is the route I would go, if it is in fact possible...

I know. It looks like you couldnt even get cinnamon leather color on non-Ms here either

Itís going to take much higher gas prices for people here in the US to start ditching their SUVs and start buying more wagons. I think (Iím gonna get flak for this) itís also because most of the people that can go out and buy a brand new F31 touring grew up in the 60s/70s/80s when wagons were more popular and they were the "stereotypical" Mom mobile = wagons arenít cool.

Itís certainly not the styling of BMW tourings that deter people from buying them. Thatís for sure. The F31 is sexy.

My Ride: station wagon
i think its partly BMW USA, they think the wagons wont sell and therefore dont push the models or stock any. Plus the engine choices have always been the small engine only for the US (in 3 series) that has always puzzled me, they are coming out with a completely new/untested in sales model the 3GT and they will sell that in both 4 and 6 cylinder engines. Yet the 3er wagon which might not have tons of sales but you still see them around a fair amount are only available in smaller engine. I think if BMW wanted to kill the stereotype of Wagon = soccer mom they could do it easily, but they make more money off of the SUV's so they push those and the the wagon gets pushed to the side.

^ ugh, don't get me started on the 3 GT and its available N55... Meanwhile the 3er Touring only gets the 4-banger and ONLY auto-tragic transmission?

I almost snapped up a lightly used, loaded, alpine white face-lift e91 m-sport with manual, but decided I would wait for the F31... No manual, no thanks!

@polonezPL, your touring is so nice and tastefully modded, love it!

You are correct - the mountings are the same as the sedan - so any rack that fits the sedan or the coupe will fit correctly on touring

Man. Black touring on Type 95's is about as classy as it comes.

Brought the wagon out of storage, gave her a much deserved bath.

from what I have heard you can get a manual but its special order, which was probably always the case with wagons... hard enough to find a dealer with one in stock much less a manual.

What you can't get currently in the US is a RWD F31....it's xDrive only...at least currently. That for me is a killer as I prefer RWD. I had planned on purchasing one in a couple years, but it looks like I'm just keeping the E46 until it falls apart or over 300K miles. Either way I am only 1/3 the way there...

Exact same boat here, had I known the F31 was going to be neutered with Xi only I would have ordered an E91. I prefer a manual no question, but I might have even been able to live with the auto being that it's 8 gears and you can at least get paddle-shifters, but AWD drive means no sport suspension and wheel gap you can fit your head into.

I love the look of the new F31s too, it's so damn frustrating.
