What's the point in modding then? So when someone wants to wrap their pillars or headliner in a different fabric and gets it from a fabric store does that mean they dun fvcked up?

the fact that it's dangerous is not opinions "oriented." It's mandated by state DOT safety regs.

The fact that it's poor taste is consensus among older, established veterans. The same kinds of people who don't buy these cars for the badges and try to skim by with as little ownership cost as possible--just enough to keep the car running while allowing them to brag and sport the BMW badge to friends, families, and girls.

Or the kinds that take instagram photos with their BMW key and a billfold with a few $5 bills and slap on cheap imitation mods to give the appearance that they have quality parts, but not actually have quality parts.

Some people want the BMW without actual responsibility to do things properly

See definition of fanatic...and don't forget where you are...the virtual Mecca of fanaticism (sorry Arab peoples!). Anyway, you have to admit that Mango isn't as bad as a terrorist, and although you don't have to admit that he's funny, I thought his craft store comment was pretty amusing!

Anyway, just went to Michaels to pick up some supplies for my next mod...I'm going to turn my rear windows into stained glass...got 5 different colors of stained glass spray and some sharpies...to draw in the 'leaded glass lines.'

I just have to come up with a theme...beagles is too played out for me, so I think I'll go with llamas.

If it's so dangerous, why are ALMS cars running them? Notice the lenses are also painted.

1) I mentioned an exception for professional race/competition use already. Read. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_do_rac...low_headlights

2) those lights are not only built like that, they aren't created by a diyer and a can of paint from michael's.

3) The headlight modders are arguing that their high beams are not in use. it is done by them for show purposes only.

Your argument doesn't apply. nice try though

Not sure how it's not applying? They race at night, and use the headlights to see.

Not to mention BMW's sold in France before 1993 all came like this, by law.

I already explained to you how it's not applying. The BMW E46 modders/DIYers in this thread that paint their headlight high beam bowls are not using their high beams (in their own words)

The lights you mention and picture are manufacturer-designed/derived and/or use in professional/competition use and are designed that way by the manufactuer.

You're comparing monkey mods for monkey reasons to legit mods for legit reasons
