Swapped the internals from bi zenons into halogen housings

I picked up a set of oem bi zenons but the housings were a little beat up and the top clips were broken so I had the idea to just swap out the internals with my halogens. I asked for some opinions if the inside of the housings were the same and got no replies so i just went ahead and rolled the dice and tried anyway. The housings are the same size but there are some differences. #1 the insides are different, no holes to feed the harness..the spot for the auto leveling plug would need to be cut out and theres no recess on the projector side for the ignitor to sit in. #2 the headlight harness only has plugs for the low and high beam... no auto leveling plug..maybe something could be spliced but im just stating whats there.... and #3 what was the biggest pain in the ass, there is a such things as a left and right harness but being i had 2 right hand harnesses I had to make it work. I havent seen a left side harness but by the troubles i went through im guessing its sized differently so the back end of it doesnt hit against the airbox because that effectively keeps the headlight from sliding into place by alot. So after some trial and error I finally got the headlights in and of course they werent level but you can adjust that after the fact with the knobs on the back... I did get the headlight out indicator on the dash but its was before i changed the lcm and either way it would only be for about 5 sec after i turned the car on... only things is im waiting til later when its brighter to see if the auto on works because right now it turns the lights on but i dont know if its just doing it by default and just treating it as an on switch. Here are some picks before and after

Nice job.
I wouldn't replace the lcm. It also stores mileage. And I think if it doesn't match the other 2 locations in the car you may get a mileage tamper dot.
Would be cheaper to just code the current lcm or get an error eliminator which is what in using.

Glad to hear it worked tho. Looks good.

Just saying tho. I personally wouldn't touch the lcm. If the auto function doesn't work it def might need coding. Then u just code it to xenons at the same time. But I can't imagine why it wouldn't work.

Nice swap. glad you didn't just pop in $20 HID like DDM or some other BS like a lot of people do. +20 MP.

Xenon / halogen has no bearing on auto function. If your car was an 02+ model and had a rain sensor, it had auto headlights. Otherwise it didn't.

You definitely have the tamper dot. You can easily fix that... But it'd make more sense to just use your original LCM and recode it for HIDs

Oh and it's "xenon" not "zenon"

Good job, it would have probably easier and better if you had retrofit them.

Anyway, let me know if you want the lights coded.

Don't mean to thread jack, but do xenon lights work without car started? Or does it need to be started for them to work?
