Wind deflector help

My deflector came today, but I dont think its fitted right. It leans forward against the seat, and looks stupid canted forward like that. Am I safe to assume it should be straight up?

Here are some pix...what am I missing?

1. It does lean forward a bit.
2. The tabs on the back lock under the storage lid. Press the close top button until the storage lid lifts a bit, ensure the tabs are under the lid, then press the open button again to lock the lid back down. This also ensures the wind deflector is not stolen.

I think it would be MUCH better looking if it was square (perpendicular to the ground), but I can live with it.

Ill supply my driving report tomorrow.

Thanks Taylor, but I figured it out. You must have posted while I was typing.

Thanks again.

You are going to be one happy dude! This is one accessory that lives up to the hype.

Yeah, it leans forward a bit but not really an issue, especially given the benefit.

I just got mine last week and am (figuratively) blown away by the difference it makes, in that suddenly things are not blown away (literally) in the cockpit. Much more effective than I've experienced in previous convertibles.

Drove into work this morning (55 degrees), and OMG! I can not believe the huge difference it makes! I can now listen to radio @ 70, no annoying "neck chill" from behind, and the almost complete rid of in cabin turbulence.

Tip the heated seats to level one, and set the heater for floor and vent @ 82, and I was more than comfortable.

Un-freakin'-believable!

You guys are right...it lives to the hype, and since I never have anybody in the back seat, its there to stay.

Hey Gas, you're lucky you can leave it installed! I regularly have my kids seats in the back, so using the deflector will be more of an irregular thing. Enjoy!

I have been contemplating a windscreen for some time. What is the best place to purchase it from?

Unfortunately, there is only the OEM solution. No after-market deflectors are available.

So...since its a BMW part, it is a little pricey, but you can probably pick one up on eBay for about $325 shipped.

You may also want to put feelers out on the various forum classified sections. Thats how I got mine.

Good luck.

Actually, there is an aftermarket one available on ebay but the price is in the same range as some of the ebay/internet vendors for the genuine BMW.

I purchased mine used from Kijiji - in perfect but dusty condition (it had been in someone's garage for a few years).

Smile Wind Deflector

If you can hold out you can find a good deal on eBay. I got an OEM one 'nearly new' with the case for $200, and I have seen others at similar prices. Just keep looking.

Wind deflector help

I got one that was traded to me today for some car repair and work I did my friends car. If the price is right I will be looking to selling this one as well since I got my own screen couple weeks ago. I know I can always sell it on eBay as the market is hot right now for these windscreens!

I see the prices on ebay. I will not go as high as the people get them on ebay. It is a nice to have for me, not a necessity, so I will not insult you by trying to low ball you. Thanks.

Wind deflector help

No worries about the low ball. We are all looking to get a great deal and enjoy saving $ on our Verts.

Currently working a deal for this wind deflector so it looks like it will be going to a fellow Fanatic and not eBay!

Let me know if the deal falls through. Perhaps we can come to an agreement.

I got a "like new" one on Craigslist for $80. Someone turned in a leased 330. I was there 20 minutes after I saw it listed

That's a crazy price. Like new should be in the $200s. Congrats.
