Toggle/rocker switch between AE's and DRL's

I'm ready to purchase AE's from Umnitza and wondering if it is possible to put a toggle switch between the AE's and DRL's. To be exact, I want to have a choice to turn on either the AE's or DRL's just switching the rocker/toggle. That also mean not disabling the DRL's. has anyone ever done this? Is this possible to accomplish at all?

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I did not find a thread in that regard when I searched. Sorry....but will search again. Thank you.

Toggle/rocker switch between AE's and DRL's

After reading all of these, I still did not find anything about putting a switch between DRL's and AE's.

Let me change my question to simplify. Is there a way to turn off DRL's without coding and not get a "bulb out" warning light? As stated on my original thread, I want to have the option of switching to DRL's or to AE's whenever I want to which I'm trying to do if possible. Thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone can share.

Anyone? I'm about to install my AE's and need help or suggestions from experienced angel eyes install members.

Toggle/rocker switch between AE's and DRL's

If DRL's are disconnected from power source or switch, then connect the AE's to where the DRL's were originally connected, I believe it will show a "bulb out" warning. Would adding a resistor eliminate the warning or not?

Honestly. The easiest way i think is by getting the light controller switch and replacing it with one that has the auto option on it. This will disable DRLs and give you straight angel eyes only. depending on how you wire your AEs. I have mine set up to be part of my turn signals. So sick and no one has them like that. If its like mine. This will also disable your high beams. You can still use high beams. You just gotta pull it towards you and hold it for short time uses. Pushing it and leaving them on will not work anymore. The indicator of them on will still show on your cluster but no actual high beam output. Totally worth it to me. Hope this helps.

You'll need this. I'm assuming you don't have this switch

Is there a part number for that switch ? I've been following this thread as I'd also like to have an independent control for angel eyes

I'd have to take mine out to get the number. I'll do that when I get home later. This is the one I have now. Before that, it was only the 3 options one. I traded my old one for this one to a friend that was selling his M3. So I scored

That is the same switch I got in my M3.

Toggle/rocker switch between AE's and DRL's

Also I texted Umnitza and they said it is possible to connect an independent switch (rocker/ toggle) as long as a resistor with same resistance as the one connected to DRL's, can be connected to AE's. That way, I can use my angel eyes or switch back to original DRL's whenever I want to.

My next question is what resistor type is a match with the DRL's resistor? Can anyone help me out on this one? Thanks in advance.

I know you want to switch between each, and honestly I'm not sure if you can with that without some sorta coding. I've never seen it done on an e46 yet. But just with that switch swap. It disabled my DRLs. With out that, I had angel eyes and drl. I didn't like that look.
