Driver window not moving for door closure

'02 330Ci Vert. My driver window is no longer opening slightly when the door is open and then moving into the fully closed position when the door is closed. So, the window is hitting against the pillar and I have to push the window in/down as I close the door to get it to seal properly. Other than that the window operates properly. If I put the windows up after I put the convertible roof up it seals properly so the door and window are in the correct positions.

It's the automatic slight drop of the window and then full up sequence that has stopped. I tried a search but it's kind of a complicated thing to look for. Any experieces with this problem?

- Put the key in position 1 so you have power to the windows.

- After the window is all the way down, push and hold down the window switch for 5 seconds. This re-sets the memory, telling the motor which position the window is in

- Roll window back up, and release switch.

- Open door, step out of car and you should see the downward movement of the window again......

Thanks Fran, I will try it this afternoon. One question, all this is done with the ignition inposition 1? Including getting out of the car?

You can turn the key off and then get out of the car

Driver window not moving for door closure

I have the same problem, the issue is with the door lock mechanism not telling the system that the door is open. The door open light and overhead light also quit at the same time. When the temp is hot it works intermittently, but when cold not at all. The built in switch in the lock mechanism is what is faulty.
