Need a review on these tires

So I have (2) brand new Wanli s-1099 215/40/17 tires laying around in my garage that my buddy gave me.

My front tires are on their way out.
I was thinking to put on the wanli tires but i am not sure. I have googled the tires and got all different responses. One said after hitting a pothole, he bent his wheel aka no rim protection(who DOESNT avoid potholes.....). Another one said they are awesome for the price you pay for them. Another one said to stay away. And another one said that they are horrendous in the rain and you can feel the sliding. I do not know who to believe. I know you should never be cheap when it comes to tires but I do have these brand new ones laying around and not being used.

So what do you guys think about these tires? I know there are millions of better ones, trust me.

Hmmm, not sure you could even get them serviced; they're not being sold anymore. http://www.moderntiredealer.com/news...x?prestitial=1

I wouldn't even think about putting them on my car let alone any other car. I haven't found one good review yet!

With tires you get what you pay for. Try a falken or kuhmo.

My tires now are falkens. So i am assuming its a nay for these tires? damnit.

Tire rack sells falkens for $70. Would the retailer who installs them sell them for the same amount?

I have no personal experience with those tires, but personally, if it were my car, I would only put reputable name brand tires on my car. Also, the tire sizing is a little off for an E46.

In my opinion, if you need two tires, purchase replacements that match the other pair you have, or get a new set of four altogether.

Sorry, I didn't notice that haha. The tire sidewall is still too short, if I recall correctly.

Definitely, and it's very possible for this tire brand to get bigger and better, but personally I would put tires I know and trust. You can always give it a go and if you don't like them try something else.
