330ci passenger hid out

I've been searching all day, haven't found any answers yet.
The owner before me installed some halos, sloppy.
I put new bulbs in. Only passenger side beams are still out.
Then, swapped igniters and the passenger side was still out...
Then, swapped ballasts. Both sides were out!
So I'm stuck now.

The passenger side ballast was a bit corroded, but it should
Have worked when I put the good ballast on right?
Need some ideas. Can just buy a 300 ballast of it isn't gonna
Be any help...

Update.
I am not getting any voltage from the GRAY plug. It's one of the power sources maybe. But not sire where it leads to, or, what the cause may be. Are there any fuses/relays that may have gone bad. Maybe the LCM?

check link in my sig, but i think it might be a grounding issue. if the halos were installed recently, check the ground on it. that's a usually a symptom that is unique to the fl coupe

I got the light working. Then it didn't. So I disconnected the neg on the battery and then back on. Then the headlight worked again. then the car sat for an hour or so before work, went to leave and it doesn't turn on once again.
Losing hope.

I'll be checking the grounds behind the light today.
But yes, I got it to work twice. The second time, after disconnecting the battery for a minute.

The grounds appear to be ok.
D/c the battery and then hooked it back up.
It worked!
Shut the car off and back on, it does not work...
Bummer

I have the same issue. When I have the key on engine off the headlight HIDs turn on but once the car is turned on they both flicker on/off and then the passenger side HID turns off :/. I heard that by fixing the tail light ground recall solved the problem. I made the appointment with the dealer this Thursday to get it fixed

Interesting. I've seen a thread on here about flickering lights.
I think your problem is a little bit different than mine. The passenger low/hig beam didn't work.
Let me go over my timeline real quick...:
When I bought the car I had it checked out. The mechanic said the LCM(light switch) was f'd up because of the AE install the previous owner did.
I swapped all parts to the driver side to see what was bad.
The bulb was burnt out.
The ballast was corroded.
The igniter was fine.

I got a new bulb, new ballast and new LCM.
After reconnecting my battery it worked!
Then I turned the car off and later it did not work...
Now, I've let the car sit for an hour or so with the battery disconnected and it worked.
I shut the car of, turned it back on. It worked. I really, really, REALLY hope that it's fixed now. I've had so many headaches over this one little problem!

So just keep searching the threads for similar problems.
Thanks to sillieidiot for his thread and some helpful advice, and all the other threads, I hope my problem is solved.

ugh

Turns out, my problem is not fixed. The passenger light only works once after dc then reconnecting the battery...

Could it be the adaptive control module? The smaller silver box on the bottom of the headlight?

I'm having a similar issue, I installed OEM bi xenons on my 2002 coupe about a year ago, and they worked flawlessly until a few days ago. The passenger side mysteriously went out. I swapped bulbs and it isn't burnt out. I then disconnected the battery and removed the LCM for 2 days hoping it might reset something, and that didn't work either.

I haven't tried swapping ballasts or igniters yet - I was really hoping for an easy fix without disassembling the headlights. What is the tail light ground fix you mentioned?

Taking the lights out is pretty easy. I don't know about the tail light ground. But just swap one part over at a time. Good luck

no, usually when that box fails, you don't have adaptive or autoleveling. it wouldn't affect the light turning on/off.

i keep asking this over and over, because it doesn't seem that you ever try this at all for some reason, but did you ever check the grounds? it's listed in my guides as one of the possible causes. i only see you disconnecting the battery, and swapping out the components.

I did check the grounds. They're clean and not corroded at all.
The grounds to the AEs seem just fine also. Disconnected them also, but it didn't change anything.

yeah, but that doesn't mean that the wires themselves aren't still bad. a good way to check is to add another ground wire to the plug and see. if it turns on, then you gotta replace that ground wire. i would check, the grounds in the surrounding area as well. since a bad ground causes screwy things to happen. and it could be bad from anywhere in the car. which makes it so hard to track.
