Cool Eagle eye LED tail light vs melted wire

I everyone i just bought my new set of EE LED taillight.
So exited to change it cause it say plug and play when a realise the right side of my tail light have melted wire to the metal tail light housing. i do my research to know what the heel is that finally to understand it's a known issue.

My question is simple what i have to do with that?
If a broke the melted wire and directly plug my new tail light it will work like it's nothing(i dont think so).

Thank you very much!!

call your local dealer to see if the recall applies to you, so you can get it fixed for free. otherwise youll need a bulb holder ($80 i think) new connector and a new terminal to repair the ground.

thats how i repaired mine. your going to have to remove that extra wire and repair that ground wire by replacing the parts burned. specifically the connector and the wire terminal.

well since you should have a new cover with the led lights you dont need the $80 bulb holder so it should cost around $20 to do both sides, at least here. Not sure if prices are very different where you are.

Here's a parts list

connector: 61138369702
terminal: 61130006626
