I will be there in June for a couple weeks. I will be staying at the Hyatt Regency in Maui and the Koa Kea in Kauai.

No wrong answer really, depends more on what you're looking for. As said, Maui is the more commercialized island if that's you thing -- more amenities, more shopping, etc. Also, more crowds, people and basically a bit closer to a generic tropical vacation spot.

Kauai feels a bit more authentic and a bit less commercialized, even a touch off the beaten path on the North shore. Much more laid back and relaxed. The views from of and from Hanalei Bay are gorgeous/stunning. Ke'e beach in the Haena State Park is very exotic and affords a great view of down the Na'Poli Coast.

I'd pick the latter rather than the former, but again, no wrong answer either way.

Kauai. Im antisocial and liked the quiet beaches vs the activity on Maui. Maui was nice too though. Either way im jealous and want to go back!
