My Ride: A car
Lap Around Pitt Race

Went to Pitt Race for their open track day this past Tuesday. My laps were consistently in the 1:10-1:11 range. Good times. Trying to find a way to gain an average of 4 mphs throughout the track. That would put in the 1:07 range. Certainly watching the video and I see places to improve my time. Currently I am run NT-05s with Turner TrackSport suspension on a AA S/C 323i.

The car does need to be corner balanced. I have never done that because access to scales were really limited. I do need to start working with tire temps and tweaking suspension settings, alignment, and tire pressures. Currently I am running my rear sway at the middle setting. I am considering completely detaching it or putting it on the softest setting. The car was experiencing just slightly too much oversteer.

Also I was using the RaceChrono program for andriod. What an awesome lap timer. I used an external GPS device and it worked great. I will try and gather up the time and write a review and a how-to for it. Great tool for those that want an affordable GPS timer.

So far it's not the suspension, it's You.

Your line is only "fair", I certainly don't say this to bash you, but light a fire under your a$$ to get you to improve. The very first thing I see is you have a BIG problem with early apex, you simply turn in too soon. This eats up lap time fast, in a bad way. Second, I'm not hearing any real threshold braking. Third, you're not getting back on the power quick enough coming out of the turn. Fourth, it seems you coast a little bit, when you're on any track trying to put down hot laps, coasting anywhere on the track is a lap time killer. Remember, you are either on the gas or on the brake, no coasting; not even for a split second. Last, overall I don't hear those Nitto's talking to you nearly enough, you need to hear that tire a lot more than you are currently.

I hope this helps you improve on what you are trying to accomplish.
