^^ You're suggesting banks or 3 cyl groupings, as the manifolds are laid out, may have a pulse or phase thing going on? They isolate the banks for exhaust efficiency. Nice, seems scientific. Ever look at what a cross-over pipe does with dual exhaust V8's? Similar theory would perhaps apply?

I just put 6.6 quarts in my 04 Xi this week. Topped it off. Manual said 6.6. Checked it, drove it, checked it. Two days later checked it. Still topped off. Must be year specific.

I don't need suspension work yet, but I thought I read someplace that the e36 M3 shocks are the way to go on the XI, any comments? I live less than 25 miles from Blau Parts shop, they advertise on Bimmerforums, and when I asked about their $349 kit for front and rear suspension (shocks, struts, mounts and all hardware) they claimed it fit the XI's. I need to stop there and have them verify that.

I e-mailed Blau Parts and their kit doesn't fit the xi, damn!

Let me know if it does. I am going to replace my suspesnsion, and it would be nice to get a less expensive alternative that still fits.

From what I read around it is the e36 rear struts that fit the e46 xi only.
I believe it was in the "what suspension to get" thread in the xi forums.

Also, this should be stickied, some good simple info for anybody looking for a quick answer.

Not quite... Let me clear this up.
Koni yellow's are made specific to the XI.
Bilstein makes shocks specific to the XI, but had an issue with the rear shocks failing. Because of that Turner Motorsports recommended using E36 M3 Bilstein rear shocks instead. That was and is the only reason why people use E36 M3 bilstein shocks on their E46 XI's.

Does they have more capacity of Oil with them ? Just in case of some modification we need to change the entire structure.
