the spirit of Mango will be pulsing through Jake's car. he will easily punch through that storm and any tornadoes that may come his way. For good measure, we also annointed his forehead with a little of my coolant prior to him returning home

Yea we have two apps for the weather/radar so we are on top of it. Plan is Grand Canyon now and going to flagstaff to sleep. Then going to Denver tomorrow, leaving Denver and arriving near St. Louis to my aunts place by Wednesday evening and Friday morning leave to nyc.

I can tell you one thing, try to make the drive from denver to st.louis at night. The road is really boring till you reach Missouri. 11 hours of mind numbing drive.
I went through it last week, also there is construction at various places in I70 eastbound in Kansas near Missouri.

Keep the thread updated when you reach denver. If I am free I will swing by to say hi.

We will see how it goes. Is there any place to eat before the canyon to take up some time?

St. Louis...I lived there for 15 years! Amaghetti's for great subs...Ted Drewes for great custard...you have to go.

There's also a pub there...someone will know...think it's O'Connells or O'Connors...for great RB sandwich...you could do that instead of Amaghetti's.

Good luck through Tornados! Mango and I will lead a pray vigil in OT tonight for you with readings from Bentley and the "what color grill" threads. That will get your through anything!

You are driving way too fast. Stop and smell the roses (edit: or cacti). Go see Bryce or Zion. If you've never crossed the rockies before, take two days. When you get to Kansas put in long driving days to make up for it.

Did you really drive all the way across the country to see a bunch of bmw's in a parking lot? I assume (hope) there was more to it than that.

Really it is your trip - do what you want - have fun - you can always go back to the bits you find interesting.

Excellent would be to drive Rt 12 thru the Escalente area in Utah (see the pic in my garage), and then up into the back door of Capital Reef NP. Nothing like it anywhere else on earth.

Can't remember the name for the life of me, but there is an awesome steakhouse fairly close to the canyon. Ton of food on the plate. I'll post if it comes to me.

I wouldn't be in any rush to catch up to that storm. It's the kind of storm where you won't be driving more than 30-40 mph, which means you're really just going to be perpetually under the storm until it's gone. I'm about to take the storm straight to the face in Huntsville. I'll let you know how enjoyable it is.
